Tucson General Election November 5, 1963
This is an election for Mayor and Council Wards 1, 2 & 4. Here Lew Davis wins election to the Mayor's office. Wards 1 & 2 are won at-large while the winners (Woods and Corbett) do not win their wards. Note the extremely close results in the Corbett/Linner match in Ward 2 and in Ward 4 (Brown/Southard/Sakin). It is also interesting to note that the winner of the close Ward 2 election, Jim Corbett, would win election as mayor in another close election in an additional four years (1967). This would be the first election granting 4-year terms and a 2-year election cycles.
