"In politics, strangely enough, the best way to play your cards is to lay them face upwards on the table."
-- H.G. Wells-- Elections Past This page is meant for a look at Tucson's election history. Currently a study is being made of elections from 1950 to the present. That includes a time in the 1950's when elections were in April and terms for the Mayor and Council were for two years. That's an election every year. In the early 1960's this changed to four-year terms with November elections in odd years. That change was the last fundamental change to our election system. You'll see that the elections a categorized by year with the election winners in parenthesis. When the information is available, you'll see the Link at the head of the title.
